We encompass two versatile restaurant venues, Cunningham’s on the Lake and Cunningham’s on the Bricks. We are committed to providing inviting and memorable dining, something you’ll want to write home about, and bring your friends back next time you pass through.
INVITING AMBIANCE
Cunningham's Journal on the Bricks is our original location. You can find us in a historic two-story building in Downtown Kearney. The inviting ambiance attracts a variety of guests, providing a nostalgic presence of what Cunningham’s was and what was in its place decades prior. Our historic small-town charm is the best place to catch the band after dinner. Take a step out into our courtyard, the original “go to” patio spot in Kearney.
TAPHOUSE TWIST
Cunningham’s on the Lake invites a modern twist to taphouse and grill dining. Enjoy the patio and view of the lake from our fire pit tables, sit at the bar and become a beer connoisseur with our 48 craft beers, or catch the game in the dining room with a TV in every direction.
Absolutely the best in Kearney! Staff was amazing. Food was superb! We try something new every time we go and have never been disappointed! Bartenders are super friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. So happy to have found such a gem!
Love this place! Good crowd, friendly fast staff. Decent prices. I like that they have 2 floors with different music going on. Good time for everyone! Great beer garden out back!
We were visiting from out of town and met family there. We sat on the patio. Great patio with excellent views of the lake. I had the pick your skewers. I choose jalapeño chicken, steak and salmon. They were all very good. A couple of us try some of their large selection of beer. The service we received was exceptional.

We were exploring the area and was told it was good with cost and a beautiful location. They were correct ... a great gem to find !!! The restaurant was beautiful and the hostess’s were polite and very prompt. The food and drinks were yummy and great portions. I would be very excited to go back if we are in Nebraska.
